Work-in-Progress

Greener is YA contemporary eco-fiction. Greta Thunberg meets The Fast & the Furious.

Vi’s passionate about saving the planet, so when she gets into a free, exclusive summer program for teens who want to “innovate a better future,” she plans to build a next-gen electric vehicle. She’s psyched to find her environmental hero is attending the program, too, intent on launching a new social app to connect with her million-plus followers.

But when the influencer guilts program sponsors into defunding the vehicle programs to boost greener ones—her own in particular, Vi’s stuck building her car on pocket change using junkyard parts. Vi calls the influencer out for blocking innovative green tech. Her rant is caught on video, cut to make her look like a hater, and goes viral. This sets off an in-program/online war over which project is greener and threatens to derail them both.
